About

We help business owners make better technology decisions.

Cervit works with owner-led businesses that know AI and technology matter, but need a clear way to decide what is worth doing next.

We are based in Colorado and work most closely with companies here. If you are outside the state and it is a good fit, we are glad to talk.

Who You're Working With

Built by founders, for owners.

Joshua and Eric did not come to this from a software company. They came to it from running businesses. Between them they have founded companies, led teams, built and sold businesses, and advised organizations on how to adopt new technology under real constraints.

They kept seeing the same thing. Owners were being told that AI would change everything, then handed a list of tools and left to figure out the rest. The advice was loud, conflicting, and almost always started with software instead of the business. Most owners are too busy running the company to sort through it.

Cervit exists to be the partner they wished those owners had. Someone who starts with how the business actually works, says plainly what is worth doing and what can wait, and gives a clear recommendation instead of a menu of possibilities. Someone who understands that a good idea only matters if you can staff it, fund it, and sustain it.

The work is built around decisions, not reports. You should leave every conversation knowing exactly what to do next.

How We Work

We learn the business before we talk about tools.

Cervit is intentionally small. The people you meet are the people doing the work, and we start with how your company actually runs before recommending anything.

handshake

Direct access

You work directly with the people doing the thinking. There is no handoff to a separate delivery team.

hearing

We listen first

We learn how your business operates, where the friction is, and what you are actually trying to fix.

rule

Business first. AI second.

We start with the business problem, not AI. Technology only matters if it serves the outcome.

task_alt

Usable decisions, not reports

You get clear recommendations you can act on, not a thick document and a list of possibilities.

schedule

We help you decide what can wait

Part of the value is knowing what not to do yet.

groups

Limited by design

Engagements are intentionally focused so the relationship stays direct and the work stays useful.

Our Approach

Technology First. AI When It Fits.

We are not here to sell AI for its own sake. AI is one possible answer, but it is not always the right one. We look at the business problem first, then decide whether AI, automation, better systems, cleaner workflows, or a different tool is the right path.

Sometimes the best decision has very little to do with AI. We will tell you that, plainly, because the goal is a better business, not more software.

What an Engagement Looks Like

It starts with a conversation.

The first conversation is free and built around understanding your business. It is practical, focused, and ends with a clear sense of the right next step.

1

A free 15-minute intro call to understand your situation and see if there is a reason to go deeper.

2

If there is a fit, a free 45-minute clarity session: we learn how your business runs, how your team is or is not using AI, and where work could be automated or improved.

3

We walk you through Cervit's pathways and recommend how an engagement could work, whether that is education, assessment, a roadmap, or implementation oversight.

4

If there is a fit for deeper work, we define scope and pricing afterward.

What you leave with

check_circle

A clear understanding of who Cervit is and how we can help.

check_circle

A couple of recommendations on how an engagement with Cervit could work.

check_circle

A better sense of whether education, assessment, or deeper work is the right next step.

Both conversations are free. If there is a fit for deeper work, we define scope and pricing before anything begins.

Ways We Help

After the clarity session, the right next step usually falls into one of four paths.

school

Curriculum

Practical education for owners, leaders, and teams that need a shared understanding of AI, automation, data, and technology decisions.

manage_search

Assessment

A structured review of current tools, workflows, data, processes, pain points, and opportunities.

map

Roadmap

A prioritized plan for what to do next, what to avoid, and where technology can create practical value.

supervisor_account

Implementation Oversight

We stay involved as the business moves from decision to execution, making sure the recommendations are implemented correctly, especially when outside vendors, internal teams, or multiple tools are involved.

Our Experience

The people you talk to are the people who do the work.

Between us we have founded companies, led teams, built and sold businesses, and advised organizations on adopting new technology under real constraints.

Joshua Ross

Joshua Ross

Founder / 25 Years in Tech / Professor

Joshua built and sold a technology services business focused on small business, and has spent 25 years in technology. He has lived close to the day-to-day reality of owner-led operations, and he knows the difference between a good idea and a good idea you can actually staff, fund, and sustain.

He works with AI and the tools owners are hearing about every day, so he can tell you what is real, what is noise, and what actually fits your operation. He also teaches entrepreneurship at the University of Denver, where he works with founders on turning ideas into businesses that can run.

At Cervit, Joshua helps owners make clear, practical decisions about AI and technology.

Eric Stern

Eric Stern

Innovation / Systems Advisor

Eric is a three-time founder, operator, and executive with 20 years building and scaling small businesses. He has led enterprise innovation programs and advised the U.S. Department of Energy, and he brings a systems-level view to how organizations actually adopt technology and make it stick.

He teaches entrepreneurship at the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business as an adjunct professor. His focus is on the gap between a promising idea and a change a team can actually absorb. He looks at how decisions, incentives, and existing systems shape whether technology gets used or quietly abandoned.

At Cervit, Eric helps owners think through adoption: what it takes for new tools and ways of working to hold up once the initial push is over.

Access

We work best through trust, fit, and focused engagement.

We are not built for high-volume work. Engagements are intentionally limited so the people you meet are the people doing the work.

Most of our work starts with a conversation or an introduction. If there is a fit, we define the right next step together. If there is not, we will say that too.

We do our best work with owners who know technology matters, are not sure where to start, and are ready to put real attention into making progress.

What We Believe

Technology does not create value. Better business outcomes do.

AI is not the strategy. Technology supports the strategy.

Start with a focused conversation.

15 minutes to see if there is a reason to go deeper. Then 45 minutes to understand your business and give you a clear recommendation.

Both conversations are free. If there is a fit for deeper work, scope and pricing are defined afterward.
